The first flowers arrived and the coming days look good for this important step that is carefully watched by all vine-growers : the birth of the vine flower !
With the appearance of the cluster, inflorescences are growing up and will separate to give flower buds. Each bud hatches in a flower. Unlike other flowers that open from the bottom, the vine flower cap comes off from the base to show the flower. Insects and wind will pollinate them in order to give small green berries (it is the fruit set).
A traditional countdown of 100 days from this setting provides an estimated date of the next harvest.
